Lillian is really chatting up a storm these days. For a while now she's using two or sometimes three or four words together. One of the first sentences was "washo hando" for wash hands. I think the o on the end of wash is for "your" and the o on the end of hand is the Persian suffix for object in the sentence (but I could be over-interpreting). I've noted the following constructions: subject and verb, verb and object (sometimes reversed), a possesive construction, and a noun or pronoun with an adjective. She is sometimes mixing Persian and English, so I'm waiting to see how she sorts things out. We play a game where I say "Mama says cat(for example) and Baba says..." and she'll reply "gorbee". It's fun to see the patterns of her learning to pronounce things. She often uses the Persian KH sound (the scratchy throat sound) instead of "th", like "clokh" for "cloth". Recently she suddenly started using "f" for "P" and where she had been saying "oopsie" when she dropped something or fell down she started saying "oofsie". She is very interested in peoples names and learns them very quickly, and the same with lots of other words.

It is great now to begin to know more about what she is thinking. It is so lovely that she tells us when she's happy. Once we were walking home and chatting, and then she was just looking around and sort of humming for a bit and then she looked at me and said "happy!". She's calling other people Moosham too now, not just me and her Baba. She says "love" to us and sometimes to other people and things. She tells me when something hurts. She is interested in sadness, but has not really spoken of herself being sad, she just cries. But she sometimes thinks her giant white bear is sad and sleeping (maybe because in "The Snowy Day" where she learned the word, Peter is sad when his snowball melts as he is going to bed.)

She has started to use her name, pointing herself out in the mirror (her reflection was just "baby" before) and today using her name as a possessive, "Lillian hat". We sing a song together "Baha'u'llah loves Lillian, Baha'u'llah loves ..." and then she'll fill in the names. She often initiates the song.

Recently she started to call her Baba by his first name, and the first time he heard it, it made him cry a little bit.
