It's cherry season, though I suspect that we've passed the peak, because the quality of the cherries already seems to be dropping. A couple weeks ago we found some really delicious ones, for about $1.50 a pound. Eating fruit at the peak of its season is an extatic experience of sorts. You feel like you escaped with the treasure.
Mangoes are coming in, but they are not very good yet. I'm waiting. I'm also pondering the wonder of living in a place that grows both cherries and mangoes.
