Ayyam-i-Ha

This last week was Ayyam-i-Ha the festive season we celebrate before the beginning of our fast, which is followed by the new year. There were lots of fun activities planned for the little ones, and sadly Lillian and I had to miss most of them because we were not well enough to go and didn't want to risk infecting anyone. But, happily, we did get well in time for the Thursday night kids' party. It was so great! There were all sorts of activities arranged, face painting, cupcake decorating, bingo, card making, play dough and coloring for tots and a baby's corner with toys and friends to play with. Lillian spent most of her time in the baby's corner. We had arrived early and so there weren't too many other babies there yet, and she got a lot of attention from those manning the baby corner. She was screaming with laughter over a game they made up together. Uncle Balli and Auntie Mellie also came over to help us celebrate, once for morning "tea" and again for afternoon pancakes and activities (we all colored and played a toss game). Saturday we went to Bahji (unfortunately she got carsick again). I had a feeling that the best present to give her would be a roll of toilet paper to unroll and shred, or a pack of baby wipes to pull out, but we needed some decorum, so I found a puzzle for her. She got some lovely presents from friends. She learned how to say "Ayyam-i-Ha", (pretty much). A good time was had by all. God bless us, every one. And to all a good night.
